🧠 Embrace Radical Honesty
When we're talking about conquering anxiety, it's time to get real. It's time to sit with ourselves and get honest about what we feel anxious about. If it's our job, we do a deep dive and find out exactly what makes us anxious about the work. If it's our relationships, we do an even deeper dive to find out what healthy relationships are and if we are in them.
This also forces us to look at our relationship history and coping mechanisms to get clear on how we show up in relationships. The point is that anxiety will not clear on its own; you have to do the work. In order to do the work, you have to know what you're doing and where to start. Radical honesty is a tool that I exercise every single day. Without it, life would be a lot harder. Make it a point to tell yourself the truth, even if it is uncomfortable, even if it scares you.
🧠 Talk To Yourself
How will you know what you think and feel if you never ask yourself? Emotions are not cut and dry, and thoughts can leave you twisting in the wind. Talk to yourself. I know they say that talking to yourself means you are "crazy," but I think it's quite the opposite. Being capable of that level of intimacy with yourself allows you to move through life with precision.
Things are clearer when you know what you think and feel about any situation. When you feel unclear, you take the time to self-examine. When we are clear about what we want, we make decisions that move us forward. When we are unclear about what we want, we make decisions that are convenient.
🧠 Affirmations! Affirmations! Affirmations!
Affirmations! My favorite thing in a bad b**** arsenal. Affirmations help you retrain your brain and build confidence. Through working with affirmations, you learn that you are capable of anything that you are willing to try, fail, try again, and master.
Affirmations also work as a check-in when you're feeling emotionally charged. I created a list of five affirmations about things I wanted to develop and own about myself. And when I was feeling emotionally imbalanced, I would walk myself through each one, and the one that triggered me allowed me to see what was going on in my emotional landscape.
🧠 Get Clear With Moonstone
Let's talk crystal magic. Moonstone is a stone of feminine power associated with the moon and the zodiac sign Libra. Libra is the sign of justice, balance, and objectivity. When we consider the metaphysical properties of moonstone, it becomes apparent why this stone works so well at clearing away anxious thought patterns.
Being associated with the moon and feminine power makes this a stone of emotions and objectivity. It allows us to root through our mental and emotional landscape with curiosity. It shows us the truth in ways that we can accept and reminds us that we have the power to make the necessary changes.
It taps into our psychic and spiritual centers helping us to find meditative balance in our lives. This is incredibly helpful when we are navigating the tumultuous waters of anxiety. Getting clear on why we are anxious is one of the first steps to being less anxious. When we learn to map out our emotional landscape, we can see what thoughts and behaviors contribute to our emotional well-being and act intentionally.
🧠 Declutter Your Space
Is it chaotic or clear when you look around your life, car, room, and home? Do you have stuff hiding in places that don't belong there, or does everything have a place? Are you hoarding or holding on to things that you don't use in anticipation of one day needing it? Give yourself the gift of organization. I'm not talking about going from a clutter box to a neat freak overnight. What I'm saying is organizing your space will help you live life more effectively.
You know what your life is like and your routines, so set up your space to meet your needs intuitively. For instance, if you make coffee in the mornings, put your items in one location so that when you wake up, everything is where it's supposed to be, and your morning goes by seamlessly. For every item that you bring in your home, remove an item. Deep clean your space seasonally, and shift some of the furniture around if you can. But for your first act, remove 12 items from your home/space today.

🧠 A Happy Belly Is A Clear Mind
If you're looking for a place to start, try these:
- Reduce trigger foods like coffee, sugar, cheese, and other dairies.
- Consider going vegan or vegetarian.
- Support your digestion with digestive supplements like trikatu powder.
- Add adaptogens like lemon balm, holy basil, or ashwagandha to your daily routine.
🧠 Free Your Mind With Meditation
Meditation can work on multiple levels, depending on your brain's anxiety. I find that it's best to start with getting quiet. I imagine that my thoughts are people walking by, then it is up to me to decide who I want to interact with.
But when first doing this exercise, it's about people/thought watching. And when we find ourselves interacting with a thought, we stop.
In this exercise, we will likely find out how many thoughts we engage with without realizing it. And as we continue this process, we begin to notice the types of thoughts that are more likely to get our attention.
As you evolve in meditation, you can begin to influence your thought process by deciding what to think about. I use affirmations.
This can work two ways,
1. When you see a negative thought approaching, give it a makeover by reframing it into something neutral or positive.
2. You can also choose an affirmation to chant during meditation. I find it best to put it to tune or rhythm when chanting with an affirmation. Repetition helps to engage one part of the brain while the creation of the rhythm occupies the other.
🧠 When implementing new things, it's best to take it slow. Add 1 or 2 of these suggestions to your life and focus on consistency. Remember, these are the things that helped me overcome anxiety. We all need different things; take what you need and leave the rest.
